Summer Reading

If you’re looking for some good summer reads, Tina from Book Chatter posted this list of summer books from NPR on Facebook today. There’s quite a mix here. The ones that stood out to me were Anthropology of an American Girl (though the size is daunting) and The Lonely Polygamist.

I know that there are a lot of summer reading lists floating around – what’s on your list this summer? Anyting you’re particularly looking forward to?

I am headed to the beach in a week, and will be bringing Room (Emma Donoghue), Girl in Translation (Jean Kwok) and Goldengrove (Francine Prose). Meanwhile the review copies keep pouring in – I hope to make it a summer full of books!

I just put My Time in France by Julia Childs on reserve at the library–came highly recommended.

I reviewed The Lonely Polygamist a couple of weeks ago and am reading Anthropology of an American Girl right now. NPR has my demographic pegged, apparently.

I may have mentioned this already, we are reading Room for the MMBC and will discussing the book with the author. I hope you can join us – I haven’t read the book yet, but can’t wait.
    It’s our Sept selection.
I hope you have a wonderful beach weekend.

I am looking forward to the 3rd book in the Hunger Games trilogy but it comes out so late! Too late to make my summer list.
