I'd also like to share some info about an event happening tomorrow at the Library of Congress. It isn't often that I get to plug Discovery content or events on my book blog, but tomorrow, in honor of this year's National Book Festival, Investigation Discovery is hosting an author event: "Hardcover Mysteries", featuring three mystery authors – David Baldacci, Sandra Brown, and Kathy Reichs. The panel of three will discuss the real life cases/investigations that inspired their fictional works. The event is hosted by Investigation Discovery (the criminal justice/investigative arm of the Discovery family) and the Library of Congress, and will take place tomorrow night at 7 PM. ID will be streaming a live webcast of the event at www.investigationdiscovery.com.

Later this fall, ID will launch a TV series under the same name – Hardcover Mysteries - which will profile eight novelists (including the three above) who will each explore the crossover from fact to fiction. Each episode of Hardcover Mysteriespairs authors with a real-life case close to their hearts, whether it inspired one of their books, mirrors the themes presented in their bestsellers or resonates with their personal life stories. In Baldacci's episode, for example, he examines the 1964 murder of Mary Meyer, a Washington D.C. socialite and confidante to President John F. Kennedy, which partially formed the basis for his first best-seller, Absolute Power.

Please tune in to the webcast if this appeals to you!
